about

"...a creative new perception leads, as it were, to a new order in the hierarchy of our understanding of the laws of nature, which neither imitates the older orders nor denies their validity altogether. Indeed, it serves, as it were, to help to put our knowledge of the older laws into a more appropriate order, while at the same time it extends the frontiers of knowledge in quite new ways. But, generally speaking, there is no reason to expect that any given set of natural laws will have an unlimited domain of validity. Rather, when any laws are applied beyond their proper domain, it will almost certainly be found that the corresponding fundamental differences defining nature's order in this domain eventually cease to be similar. Indeed, the differences will now be different. This leads in turn to new similarities and thus to the perception of new orders and the creation of new structures. So, in a way, the order and structure of our knowledge of natural law are always evolving, by a principle similar in certain ways to that of the order and structure of nature: by similar differences, leading to different similarities, in an ever-growing hierarchy of orders, that formed, as it were, a living body of natural law."

-David Bohm "On Creativity"

---

“The Humanity of the world is maintained only through constant effort.” (M. John Harrison, Inertia, Animalism, & Paranoia) Nick Podgurski, in what he does, how he thinks, and who he is, is a pure and total manifestation of this effort.

On a narrow and obscure path, surrounded by constant violence, seeing nothing but for the soft illuminations of kindred spirits, we are fellow travellers towards many-starred spaces. Nothing like the pretension to novelty, but the patience and humility of the archive, its roots spreading out, ever branching forming new and stronger connections between the ancestral realms and the unborn. What appears as fragmentary at the level of surface is in reality a natural flowing and intuitive connection. To reward the careful and protect from the predatory gaze of the indifferent.
